Once a consensus was reached in the system of comercial and political relations between Spain and Cuba, the readjustment in the interaction between Cubans and Spaniards was easier, as the situation of open war turned into another of peaceful coexistence guaranteed by the jural framework of the new republic, strengthened by the rise of Spanish immigration, and sustained by the enormous influence of the Hispano-Cuban cultural tradition.
