Royalist Prisoners in the River Plate Region: Brief History of their Misfortunes

The article deals with vicissitudes suffered durlng the wars for independence in the River Plate region by the royalist prisoners who, for security reasons, were, transferred to frontier pots, very distant from urban centres. For some prisoners these transfers were a source of hardships and misfortunes. Others, the minority, benefitted from the concession of freedom which the government gave as a special privilege.
