Abstract

The author tries to set Indalecio Prieto’s mission in Cárdenas’ Mexico within its political context, emphasizing the background of the relationship between the Spanish republican socialists and the Mexican leftist nationalists and its development from the 1920’s onwards. The present monograph is an account of the JARE’s management and of President L. Cárdenas’ policy towards the Spanish republican refugees until the beginning of Ávila Camacho’s presidency
