The study is focused on the negotiation between the Crown representant, Pedro La Gasca, sent to Peru after the Gonzalo Pizarro rebellion started. The article tries to reconstruct the power nets, the change of balances, the individual and group interests of the different actors of the rebellion and the mediation with and for the Crown, mainly through the presidente La Gasca correspondence with the rebels. The equilibrium set by this negotiation will be maintained, to some extent, for the next decades.
