Comparative study of two colonial institutions: the North American reservations and the Spanish American reductions

Points out the similarities between two insitutions which evolved under the French, British and Spanish colonial systems, identifying and analyzing five phases in the changing character oh the circumstances and purposes which produced them, and concluding that boothwere attempts to fit Indians into European modus, and help to explain the present situations of Indian population.
