Abstract


The bishop Herdocia ( 1856) gave an initial support to the Walker's invasion and politics in Nicaragua. But all the other bishops in the area rejected his point of view on religious freedom and anexionism. The author uses the reports of the spanish diplomatic service in Central America collected in the spanish Foreig Office (Madrid).
