Using the information given by the chronicles and sources of the Archivo General de Indias, the author analyses the way of living of the proffesional soldier in the chilean military borderline: the lodging, soldier's pay, clothing, diet, games and partnership. That is, everything that has to do with daily life in a hard and permissive, although deeply religious, borderline.
