La Historia Natural en la «Historia del Nuevo Mundo» del P. Cobo

After a brief look at the context of Father Cobo's life and of his History of the New World, this article focuses on an analysis of the content, structure and meaning of the book, using Father Acosta's Natural and Moral History as a model for this type of chronicles, whose object was to discovert the new and different reality of America, a real challcngc for the period's science, which led to a more or less implicit renovation of the theory of culture.
