The analysis of one of Max Aub's most brilliant novels, «Jusep Torres Campalans» (1958), allows us a deep insight in the complex relationship between the «historic» Avantgarde and the Neoavantgardes of the sixties and seventies as well as between postvanguardist aesthetics and (the cultural space of) Postmodernity. Focussing different forms of the break with the break of tradition, this essay deals with the avantgardist vaccination of postmodern cultural practices.
