Milicias y faccionalismo en Santa Fe, 1660-1730

This article analyzes the situation in the indian border, the permanent war effort, the role of the «milicia» in Santa Fe and its jurisdiction and the ties betwen the local authorities and the government of Buenos Aires. The aim is to explain the political behaviour of the neighbours of Santa Fe from mid 17th Century to the beginning of the Borbonic reforms. Sources from the Santa Fe archives are cross-checked with those of the Argentinian National Archives (Buenos Aires).
