Abstract

Using documentary sources from the National Historical Archive (Overseas Section) and the General Administrative Archive (Education and Sciences Section), the article studies the Overseas Museum (1874-1884), the Philippines Exhibition (1887) and the Overseas Library-Museum (1888-1908), pa¡ing special attention to activities designed to increase the understanding o Philippine ethnography.
