Las Casas cersus Vitoria, 1550-1552: The revolution of the twelfth reply, causes and consequences

Trough Soto and Sepúlveda, Las Casas clashed with Vitoria in a particularey traumatic incident during the Valladolid controversy. This article studies the historical and documentary context in which the conflict arose,clarifing its main points, its impression on Las Casas, and, finally, its contrlbution to the understanding of certain problems in Las Casas thouht.
