Abstract


Evaluation of the Peruvian political press during the process of independence, showing how it enables one to follow the evolution of the political thought of a minority group -the governing elite- which uses the press to maintain its varying positions, from reform to rupture. The press was undoubtedly a fundamental means of expression of public opinion.
