Abstract


The author is concerned with the effects on the emmigration upon the receiving country as much as upon de original region. He insists on the etnical character of the galician immigration and its regionalist attitudes. Dealing with cuban and spanish documents, that include public and private funds, the article distinguishes several stages in the evolution of cuban galleguisism. Beginning with the first manifestations at the end of the XIX century, the stand by during the Independence War and the first years of the XX century, the nationalistic development up to 1929 and the final decadence during the spanish Second Republic and Civil War.
