Studies on Cuban History in the 19th Century have developed widely in Spain in the last ten years, particularly in the field of Economic —less in Social— History. The perspectives and approaches applied, as well as the objects of study have widened and evolved into an open and varied panorama. By focusing on some of the most interesting titles and novelties, the author of this critical review evaluates the latest tendencies and discusses their insertion both in their original context and in the current Spanish historiography.
