This aide intends to analyce one of the ceremonies —a bucklog— performed by the "Subano" in Mindanao. We have drawn on the scarce American bibliography existing for this group —partly based on Spanish Colonial sources— as well as on the field notes taken during the celebration of this ceremony in the small Dampalan community. Our final aim is to compare past and present performances and confirm whether any modifications have been introduced.
