Abstract

This is a historical-anthropological discussion of the basis of the Indianist notion that the identity of Indians is authoctonous and independent of all contact with Spain. At the same time, the author considers the debate over the antagonism between Anthropology and the Fifth Centennial Celebrations and the Indians, whose opinion they have supplanted.
