Abstract


The aim of this article is to analyze in detail those collections on Columbus which, by virtue of their information and characteristics, offer opportunities for research in subjects connected with him. The author has classified these collections in five sections: 1. Documents compiled or written by Columbus himself. 2. Contributions by Hernando Columbus and Bartolomé de Las Casas. 3. Eighteenth-century documentary collections on Columbus. 4. Pertinent material to be found in nineteenth-century collections. 5. Twentieth-century editions of documents.
